Inspired by the classic 1997 GI JOE A-10 Thunderbolt VTOL fighter jet, this upgrade set contains many design nods to its predecessor as well as adding some new elements inspired by both GI JOE motion pictures and early concept art of the Retaliation Ghost Hawk.

Larger shark mouth details, movie inspired pilot tags, and instrument panel details are among the many details found in this set. An optional GI JOE ROC falcon logo, seen along the fuselage of the GI JOE Howler in the Rise of Cobra motion picture, is also included.
